About University of New England (UNE)

University of New England (UNE) is Australia’s oldest regional university offering courses at undergraduate, postgraduate coursework and higher degree research levels. As well as career oriented courses such as teaching, nursing, law, agricultural economics, commerce, rural science, environmental science, communications studies, psychology and urban and regional planning. Teaching is strongly supported by staff research expertise. Courses are offered for on-campus students and by distance education. UNE is committed to teaching that is flexible, open to students' needs, sensitive to students' backgrounds, provides personalised support, is challenging in its academic content, and relevant to students’ future professional and civic lives.

UNE was recognised in the Good Universities Guide for 2005, receiving top rating (five stars) for overall educational experience for the sixth consecutive year, the only university in Australia to have maintained this rating 2000-2005. UNE’s School Recommendation Admission Scheme offers an alternative entry pathway for school leavers. UNE offers an attractive range of scholarships.

UNE is set in a beautiful environment, and half of the students who study on-campus also live in UNE residential accommodation, providing a unique living-learning experience. Students enjoy small class sizes and strong interaction with teaching staff. The campus offers outstanding academic resources, especially its library and computer facilities, and excellent sporting and social facilities. UNE’'s 15,000 students studying off-campus by distance education are supported by modern online communication and learning resources.
