About
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Food Innovation at Sunway University combines culinary creativity, food science, sustainability, and digital analytics to prepare graduates for leadership in the global food industry. This 3-year full-time programme develops students’ expertise in both practical and scientific aspects of food, enabling them to design innovative products and solutions for evolving markets.
In Year 1, students build a strong foundation in Culinary Operations, Food Science & Innovation, and Fundamentals of Halal Practices, alongside essential business skills. Year 2 integrates nutrition, technology, and sustainability through modules such as Nutrition & Wellness, Modern Food Production, and Food Preservation Methods, with a 10-week industry internship. Year 3 focuses on applied innovation, including Data Analysis for Food Trends, Sensory Evaluation, and the Capstone Food Innovation Project, complemented by a second 10-week internship.
Graduates are ready for careers such as R&D Chefs, Food Data Analysts, Smart Kitchen Specialists, Mass Gourmet Product Developers, Food Tech Entrepreneurs, and more, driving innovation and sustainability in the food sector locally and globally.

- Sunway Foundation in Arts/Science & Technology: CGPA 2.0
- UEC: Maximum 30 points from 5 subjects (all Grade Bs)

- Sunway Diploma Studies: CAVG 40% or CGPA 2.0 (advanced standing possible)
