- Provide a 5-minute demo reel of your work. Your demo reel should be in WAV or MP3 format and demonstrate your radio work. This could include talk, music or magazine style programming which showcases your radio abilities in one or more of the following: announcing, producing, audio production, writing.
Curriculum
Subject 1: Principles of Radio
The subject aims to develop the student’s knowledge of the fundamental principles and work practices of radio in Australia recognising the role of radio in the community, the importance of codes of conduct, community standards and accuracy and balance in reporting. Students will collaborate to deliver a broadcast of an annual cultural event.
Subject 2: Craft Skills
The subject aims to give students the skills to create information and entertainment content that responds to audience need. Students will develop craft skills in a broadcast medium including music programming and develop cross media content.
Subject 3: Technical Skills
The subject aims to develop the student’s technical skills to broadcast content in a number of contexts including using a range of broadcast software and equipment across content delivery platforms. Students will develop skills in writing, presenting and programming for news, current affairs an talk.
Subject 4: Station DesignThe subject aims to give students an understanding of the radio industry's audience needs and changing consumption patterns by designing a station for a specific audience. Students will gain an understanding of work practice by participating in and reflecting on the collaborative process of broadcast radio.
