University of Jamestown

Our beautiful campus sits on 110 wooded acres and is made up of 27 buildings which include 10 classroom buildings and six residence halls.

Jamestown, a city of 17,000, is located in the scenic James River Valley in Central North Dakota.

The Liechty Apartment, located across the street from campus at 906 8th Avenue NE, and University Apartments adjacent to the soccer field at 606 10th St. NE, are designated for seniors and juniors (based on credits). Roommates living in this building must have a combined average 3.0 GPA or higher and must not have a campus discipline issue for one year. The apartment is a co-ed facility sleeping four students per apartment. Each apartment features two bedrooms and one bathroom as well as a living room, kitchen, and dining room. Provided are beds, desks, dressers, and a table with chairs. The apartments are air conditioned and some also feature a dishwasher. A free laundry facility can be found in the lower level of the apartment building. The Liechty and University Apartments are open for students over semester break. In addition, they are used for summer housing based on availability.

Kroeze Hall is traditionally a first year student residence hall. It features a unique architectural style with rooms framing an inner courtyard. Kroeze provides housing for 189 students with males on the first floor and females on the second floor. Kroeze rooms feature extra long twin size beds, dressers, and desks. Computers and networked printers are located in lounges throughout each Kroeze Hall. The hall is divided into 10 smaller sections with a lounge and bathroom for each section. In addition to the 10 smaller lounges, Kroeze’s main lounge is a regular site for campus programming weekly. Kroeze main lounge features a gas burning fireplace, large flat screen TV, grand piano, pop machine, and living room furniture. Kroeze also features a kitchen for student use and free laundry facilities on the lower level. The building is now air conditioned.

Nierling Hall is traditionally designated for married students, students with children, and senior housing (based on credits). It is a co-ed residence hall. The hall features suite-style living in 15 units each consisting of a kitchen, full bath and living quarters for two residents. Nierling Hall is air conditioned. The room features two extra-long twin beds, two dressers, two desks, and a table and chairs. The apartments are carpeted. Nierling Hall also features a computer lab and free laundry facilities on second and third floors.Nierling Hall is open for students over semester break.  In addition, it is used for summer housing based on availability.

Prentice Hall is traditionally designated for upper class male and female students. Prentice combines a traditional architectural style with contemporary suite-style living.The three-story brick building contains about 44,000 square feet and houses 152 students. Each living unit houses four students and includes two bedrooms, a living area, and a full bath. Each bedroom contains two desks, two dressers, two closets, and two extra-long twin beds that may be bunked or separated. Prentice rooms are carpeted. The building also houses study rooms and a computer lab. Free laundry facilities are located on the first floor.The updated Prentice Lounge, located at the front entrance of the building, features a grand piano, study furniture, and an adjacent kitchen for student use. It is a ideal location for campus programming and meetings.

Seibold Hall is traditionally an upperclassman residence hall. Seibold Hall provides modern conveniences in a structure designed to blend with the traditional architectural style and character of the campus. Seibold Hall houses 120 male and female students. The three-story brick building features mostly double rooms and a few singles, computer labs, and six recently updated student lounges. The main two story entry lounge features an oak-mantled fireplace, a grand piano, a large television, living room furniture, and a conference room.The rooms include built-in desks and counter, two dressers, two closets, and extra-long twin beds that may be used bunked or separated. Seibold rooms are carpeted. Free laundry facilities are found on first floor.

Watson Hall offers suite-style housing. Each four-person unit includes two bedrooms and a living area (uncarpeted). Each floor has two recently remodeled bathroom and shower facilities. Watson provides housing for 80 female and male students. Watson rooms feature extra long twin size beds, dressers, and desks. Westley Commons on the first floor provides a unique place to gather or study and features a gas fireplace. The kitchen, also on the first floor, is available for student use. Free laundry facilities are found on second floor. Computers and Networked printers are found in the second floor lounge. Watson Hall provides resident assistants on each floor as well as a Resident Director and Assistant Resident Director for the building. The building is air-conditioned.

Wilson Hall is traditionally designated for upper class male and female students. The residence hall features suite-style living and has rooms designed to accommodate four students, with housing for 62 men and women. Each suite is carpeted and has two bedrooms, a full bath, and living room. The room features four twin-size beds that can be bunked, four dressers, and four desks. Wilson hall is air conditioned. Wilson Hall has a TV lounge on the main floor with a computer lab and a small kitchen with a microwave and stove for student use. Free laundry facilities are located on second and third floor.
