About Appalachian School of Law
"Compact" is a good way to describe ASL's campus. Unlike a law school located at a large university, ASL is easy to navigate, so you can spend more time studying instead of finding your classes.
Our modern campus has four buildings:
- Main academic building - this mostly wireless facility houses an appellate courtroom/auditorium, trial courtroom, seminar rooms, student mailroom, the Lion's Lounge, and faculty and staff offices
- Law library - this extensively remodeled, nearly 25,000-square-foot library includes seminar classes and group study rooms
- Student Organization House - this is home to offices for student organizations, including the Student Bar Association, and a coffee shop
- Booth Center - this three-story, 58,000-square-foot facility is shared with Southwest Virginia Community College
Appalachian School of Law (ASL) is located in Grundy, Virginia. The campus is surrounded by mountains and is located along the banks of the Levisa Fork River. Life in Grundy is peaceful, providing a quiet location for students to focus on their law education.
Appalachian School of Law (ASL) does not offer on-campus housing, so most students live in the town of Grundy and the surrounding area. A list of housing options is available through our Office of Student Services.
