About Technical University of Denmark (DTU)

DTU is a self-governing university that covers most engineering disciplines and educates engineers at the Bachelor, Master and PhD levels. The University has approximately 1,500 researchers, 6,500 students, 850 PhD students and 650 international students a year. DTU offers 26 English-taught MSc programs and more than 600 other courses taught in English. 

DTU is one of the leading technical universities in Northern Europe, with more than 180 years experience in high level research and education. The university is characterised by having an international environment with students and researchers from all over the world, and a large number of courses and programs taught in English. 

Campus information

DTU has a high international standard within the technical-natural sciences, based on 19 individual departments as well as a number of research centres on campus in Lyngby, north of Copenhagen. The departments cover activities in biotechnology, communications technology, management, wind energy, space technology and nanotechnology among other areas. DTU houses a coherent innovation system that stretches from research and teaching to patents and licensing, industrial collaboration and science park activities. 

The main address of DTU (Technical University of Denmark) is located in Lyngby, 15 km north of Copenhagen, and it is primarily here that the education of the students takes place, and also here that the administration of DTU is located. You can get to DTU in Lyngby, by car or by public transportation. Several busses stop almost at the door and Lyngby Station is just 2 km away with even more bus connections. There are trains every 2 - 10 minutes from Copenhagen Airport which stops at the main stations of Copenhagen; Nørreport, Østerport, Vesterport and Copenhagen Central Station. The price of a ticket for this journey is around DKK 60 and all in all it takes approximately 50 minutes to get to DTU.
